Monogram Figural Banks Explained

By Animetasia

If you've walked through a comic shop or a convention lately, you've probably seen a row of chunky character busts with a coin slot in the back. Those are Monogram figural banks, and they've become a fun side collection for a lot of Funko and anime fans.

What they are

Monogram's figural banks are coin banks shaped like popular characters, usually as a big-headed bust in a cute, stylized look. They're made from sturdy PVC and stand around 8 to 9 inches tall, which makes them a lot bigger than a standard Pop.

They actually work as banks: there's a coin slot in the back and a removable plug on the bottom to get your money out.

Characters you'll find

Why collectors like them

Display tips

Because they're larger, put them on the top shelf or at the ends of a row of Pops to frame the display. Like any collectible, keep them out of direct sunlight to protect the paint, and dust them now and then with a soft cloth.

Keeping the box

If you think you might ever sell or trade them, keep the box. Like most collectibles, banks in their original packaging are worth more to other collectors.
